Bloomberg buys Bureau of National Affairs

In its biggest acquisition to date, Bloomberg L.P. announced Thursday that it has agreed to buy the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) for $990 million.  The bureau’s research and news services, which provides legal, tax, regulatory and environmental information services to professionals in those industries, will bolster Bloomberg’s existing financial platform and augment Bloomberg Law Division in its efforts to compete with legal information services such as Westlaw.
