Survey finds CFOs positive about company directionPosted by RJ and Makay on Dec 09, 2010 |
It looks like CFOs are starting to feel positive about the direction their companies are heading in. A recent survey from Bank of America Merrill Lynch known as The CFO Outlook showed that 47% of the 801 executives polled said they believe their companies will be hiring additional employees next year, a number that’s up considerably from last year, when just 28% made that forecast.
Last year, 9% of the executives surveyed predicted layoffs, but this year the number is down to 6%. Also, 64% of CFOs are forecasting revenue growth next year, which is not really surprising, since companies have been sitting on profits for a while. If more businesses would begin hiring people, it would greatly contribute to jumpstarting the economy.
