Investors’ satisfaction level with their full service brokerages has remained flat since last year and also since the midst of the financial crisis in 2008, according to the latest J.D. Power and Associates investor satisfaction study. Edward Jones scored highest this year, propelled by the best score in the “client satisfaction with advisor” subcategory. The study found that advisors are spending more face time with clients over their portfolios and investment performance.
Charles Schwab
Charles Schwab Corp. has opened its first franchise branch office. The Nashua, New Hampshire franchise will be operated by Mary Murphy, an advisor from nearby Bedford, New Hampshire who formerly worked at UBS and MML Investor Services. The opening comes ten months after Schwab first announced the plan to expand its retail branches with independent operators.
Change Sciences Group says the Ameriprise Financial Corp. website home page beats out Charles Schwab’s home page. Ameriprise communicates more about itself as a company, according to Steve Ellis, a partner at Change Sciences Group. Ellis likes how Ameriprise features its Facebook page, an indication that the company is comfortable highlighting its customers’ experience.
