Bank of America Merrill Lynch has renamed its Institutional Consulting Group and hired a new advisor team overseeing more than $2.7 billion in client assets. The new tack for the institutional business, now named Global Institutional Consulting, was announced in an internal memo sent to employees Monday by Thomas McAuliffe, Managing Director and head of Global Institutional Consulting.
Barron’s has come out with its annual list of top 100 independent financial advisors, rating them for volume of assets, revenues generated for the firms and quality of practice. Steve Lockshin of Convergent Wealth Advisors tops the list. The Los Angeles, California firm has $10.07 billion in assets, and improved to the top slot after coming in at number 4 in 2010.
