Overall investor satisfaction stays flat: J.D. Power

J.D. Power and AssociatesInvestors’ satisfaction level with their full service brokerages has remained flat since last year and also since the midst of the financial crisis in 2008, according to the latest J.D. Power and Associates investor satisfaction study.  Edward Jones scored highest this year, propelled by the best score in the “client satisfaction with advisor” subcategory.  The study found that advisors are spending more face time with clients over their portfolios and investment performance.

Advisory TeamsOn Wall Street magazine has compiled the compensation plans of the large wirehouses and regional firms to see what’s in store for advisors at those firms.  Annual production rankings measured firms at various levels of production from $200,000 to $1 million.  The 2012 compensation story is more than the rankings or the team-based awards.

J.D. Power releases 2010 Investor Satisfaction Study

The new J.D. Power and Associates 2010 U.S. Full Service Investor Satisfaction Study JD Powershas been released based upon 4,460 surveyed investors who utilize an investment advisor. For the second year in a row Edward Jones received top honors.

The top five consisted of:

  1. Edward Jones
  2. RBC
  3. LPL
  4. Schwab
  5. Raymond James

Ameriprise, Fidelity, UBS, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley rounded out the top ten for overall satisfaction.  However, based upon “investment performance” the top three were LPL, Ameriprise and Schwab.
