Home ownership still desired despite downturn

After the recession, many Americans doubt that their home is a good investment though most still feel it is essential to their sense of well being, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll. Nearly 9 in 10 Americans believe home ownership is part of the American dream, and support is higher for people in financial distress over housing than it is for people who have been out of work for many months.
