One-percenters worried about job security

Employment28% of the top 1% of earners are concerned about job security, according to a new American Express Publishing and Harrison Group survey.  21% of corporate executive one-percenters are worried that they will lose their job within 12 months.  Also, 25% of business owners in the top earnings category fear that their firms may fold over the next year, the survey found.

Federal workers earn more than private sector peers

Federal employeesFederal workers on average earn about 2% more than private sector workers in a similar position, according to a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) study.  The CBO study found that federal employees earned 16% more in total compensation (pay and benefits) as compared to workers in private companies.  The study was in stark contrast to progressive policy shops that claim government workers make less money than their counterparts in the private sector.

Nearly a quarter of worldwide workforce are depressed

WorkerNearly a quarter of workers around the world are depressed, according to a recent “Global Mindset Survey” by management consulting firm rogenSi.  The study, which surveyed 1,200 workers around the world, found that 92% of survey respondents linked their mental health with their job performance.  The research also showed that only 12% are optimistic about their jobs, and that 14% of workers thought of their leaders as inspirational.
