Jobless claims at lowest level since Spring 2008

UnemploymentThe number of Americans who filed new claims for jobless benefits fell sharply last week to its lowest level since May 2008, the Labor Department said today.  First-time applications for unemployment compensation declined by 19,000 to a seasonally adjusted 366,000, an indication that the fragile U.S. labor market continues to improve.
